Our Story
The technology behind Flux Marine is rooted in nearly a decade of research and development, inspired by a lifetime on the water. In 2015, with seed funding from Princeton University’s Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering department, Ben Sorkin began developing the first iteration of what would become Flux Marine’s electric propulsion system.
Soon joined by co-founders Daylin Frantin and Jon Lord, the team spent years designing, testing, and refining the technology while building Flux Marine from the ground up. What began in a garage has grown into a Rhode Island manufacturing operation supported by a team of engineers, designers, technicians, and marine experts. Today, Flux Marine is building and delivering high-performance, all-electric propulsion systems for boaters across the country.
