Job Overview

We are looking for a controls engineer to lead the development and integration of powertrain, energy storage, and ECU components. As a part of this role, you will have visibility into the other projects in development at the company and will regularly engage with the executives and founders on the progress of your work.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Help to define and implement high level system architecture across battery management, sensor inputs, inverter, motor, operator interface and central ECU
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to define subsystem and component requirements
  • Implement safety protocols and diagnostics across product lines
  • Collaborate with Powertrain Team on design, simulation, integration, and testing full system
  • Collaborate with electrical and hardware engineers to define and integrate components, check functionality on the bench and on water
  • Work closely with Powertrain Team to optimize system performance

Skills & Experience

  • BS degree in Computer Science/Software/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ professional engineering experience in related field
  • Experience developing electromechanical systems and interfacing with high voltage products
  • Proficiency with embedded firmware development in C/C++
  • Significant experience working with CAN protocols
  • Experience in Matlab/Simulink is preferred
